Romanian Industry 4.0 startup Kfactory, 600.000 EUR seed round for expansion

KFactory, Industry 4.0 startup from Romania, is announcing it raised 600,000 euro in seed round to accelerate its growth on DACH market (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), invest in its network of partners and integrations, and expand the capabilities of its platform, with the goal of boosting operational performance, sustainability, and digital knowledge into factories.

New investor Fortech Investments is leading the round and SIF Transilvania is joining, along with existing investor Sparking Capital, which follow-ups its initial investment. This latest round brings KFactory’s total funding to date at 817,500 euro, as a validation of KFactory’s innovation and acknowledgement of the global market opportunity.

KFactory is an enterprise process automation platform focused on boosting operational performance for manufacturing companies of all sizes and sectors. The platform is also including The Team of Virtual Engineers, that changes the way teams are interacting with shop floor processes as production, maintenance, supply chain and quality, being able to monitor carbon footprint and energy efficiency, among other disruptive features.

“In 2021, we have increased the customer base with 500% and more than 300 industrial equipment are connected in our platform. We are continuing our growth in Romania and consolidating our presence on the DACH market, towards a global presence in a couple of years. We want to thank to all investors for understanding our potential, contributing with smart money and being part of this journey.” said Vlad Cazan, KFactory co-founder and Sales Leader.

“Our customers acknowledge the added value of KFactory by gaining critical insights on their operational processes and improved production performance. With this funding, our aim is to expand KFactory functionalities, to be more human centric, focused on innovation and sustainability.” said Adrian Dima, KFactory co-founder and Product Leader.

The value of the investment is maximized by the presence of Fortech Investments as the lead investor, branch of Fortech - one of the largest IT service providers in the region, included in rankings as one of the fastest growing technology companies in Central and Eastern Europe, known for its footprint in software development for manufacturing industry.

„KFactory addresses an industry very close to the interests of Fortech Investments. With a solid team and business purpose, KFactory represents a great opportunity for Fortech Investments to support the manufacturing domain and expand its portfolio. Leading this round, we offer both expansion capital as we do technical and sales expertise to help KFactory reach new markets and customers.” – Valentin Filip, VP at Fortech Investments

“The progress achieved by KFactory is remarkable and we are happy to contribute again to the development of the company, after the first funding round, led by Sparking back in 2020. This transaction is a sign of maturity not only for Sparking Capital portfolio, but for the entire Romanian ecosystem.”  - Cristian Negruțiu, Founding Partner at Sparking Capital

“KFactory gives us the opportunity to support two key areas, in which the economic environment in Romania has a very high growth potential. This partnership is the first step we are taking in the new direction of investment that we have initiated: we are open to supporting business ideas from all economic areas, prioritizing the value it creates in the market and the potential for long-term development.”- said Radu-Claudiu ROȘCA, CEO SIF Transilvania.
