MSI is a longstanding partner of the U.S. Department of Defense and is known for its expertise in stabilized weapon platforms and counter-drone and missile defense solutions.
How AI can help us protect ourselves better in case of war
The strategic partnership aims to integrate the capabilities of OVES Enterprise’s Nemesis AI platform into MSI’s next-generation defense systems, including EAGLS anti-drone and anti-missile applications.
By combining MSI’s proven legacy in stabilized weapon systems and EAGLS C-UAS with OVES Enterprise’s expertise in AI and software engineering, the partnership addresses an urgent global challenge: even the most advanced conventional defense systems are struggling to counter emerging threats, particularly autonomous drones.
Recent conflict zones have exposed the growing limitations of traditional defense technologies when faced with agile, fast-moving, and hard-to-intercept threats such as autonomous drones. In this new era of warfare, In today’s evolving battlespace, the integration of advanced AI with the speed and precision required in C-UAS weapon systems is essential to achieving operational effectiveness. EAGLS is designed to operate independently or as part of a larger defense network, using proven components like 360° radars, laser-guided rockets, and remote weapons stations.
The integration of Nemesis AI transforms this platform into a fully autonomous counter-threat solution. Nemesis AI processes large volumes of data in real time, recognizing, classifying, and anticipating complex threats to support tactical decisions at a speed unattainable by traditional systems.
"By fusing radar with real-time visual recognition and onboard AI decision-making, we’re enabling faster, more precise threat classification and
engagement. This is about shortening kill chains, reducing operator burden, and delivering an affordable, autonomous layered defense solution that can outpace emerging drone threats at the tactical edge", said Nguyen Trinh, CEO of MSI Defense Solutions
AI, the most advanced shield against attacks
The partnership will lead to the development of a fully AI-driven system capable of intercepting threats using visual sensors alone, with no reliance on radar or GPS – a capability currently unavailable in this configuration on the global market.
OVES Enterprise will implement an advanced sensor fusion solution – “super sensor fusion” – combining RGB, thermal, and neuromorphic cameras to detect and recognize incoming threats in real time. Once identified, Nemesis AI will classify the threat, notify the Battle Management System (BMS), and generate recommendations on the optimal interception method based on the available arsenal.
The entire system will be powered by dedicated AI hardware developed specifically for this partnership, engineered to handle high data volumes at speeds beyond those of conventional systems.
Simultaneously, the platform will enable intelligent turret movement control, delivering significantly higher speed and precision than traditional mechanical systems. With these capabilities, MSI EAGLS systems will be able to intercept next-generation drones – fast, autonomous, and missile-evading – using only visual data and artificial intelligence. In an industry where performance is critical and response time can determine the success or failure of a mission, this type of system sets a new technological standard.
“Our discussions with MSI started from an urgent, real-world need: to counter attack types that current systems fail to intercept. We’ve demonstrated that we can deliver more than a recognition tool – we offer a complete platform that analyzes, decides, and acts at the pace required on the ground. Nemesis AI is now proving to be a versatile technology – usable in drones, turrets, and integrated defense systems – and this partnership is a key step in consolidating our international position as a defense AI solutions provider”, said Mihai Filip, CEO of OVES Enterprise.
Increased efficiency and lower costs for defense
The system will deliver advanced threat recognition and response capabilities while maintaining an optimized cost level – estimated at half the cost of comparable solutions currently on the market. AI processing will be conducted on dedicated hardware designed and delivered by OVES Enterprise, ensuring efficient integration and full independence from other technical platforms.
Through this partnership, OVES Enterprise and MSI Defense Solutions expands its portfolio of strategic international collaborations, demonstrating the real-world applicability of proprietary technologies within global defense architectures. The project also holds potential for integration into Romania’s national defense systems.
OVES Enterprise is a Romanian software development company with expertise in creating complex software solutions and AI innovations for aerospace, defense, and cybersecurity industries, founded in 2015 in Cluj-Napoca. Since 2019, OVES's strategy has included offering more complex software development services for projects in automotive, eCommerce, fintech, telecom, and international government institutions, becoming a technological partner for complex and technologically sophisticated projects. Last year, OVES Enterprise expanded its activities with a new business line focused on drone production.
