The 5 days remote hackathon will challenge fintechs to build value creation applications on top of the battle tested Open Banking data aggregation platform provided by Finqware.
With the support of top business mentors and jurors, more than 40 people will work at developing their open banking solutions for individuals, business and IoT with projects in the field of budgeting, payments, cash withdrawal, loyalty, loans and trading.
During the hackathon week, competing teams will be working on open banking solutions for AI-powered engines in the insurance sector, enterprise accounting and financial management, e-commerce decentralised consumer networks, online payment and reconciliation solutions, cards emulation, online wallets, investment, personal finance and budget management,
The 5 best teams will be selected for the hackathon Grand Finale and will get a chance at awards adding up to 10,000 € in cash prizes, partner benefits and services, plus PoC partnerships.
On top of this, participating teams will experience 5 days of networking and 1to1 mentor feedback sessions, to further refine their ideas and improve on their products.

Having main partner Google Cloud and as institutional partner the National Bank of Romania, the event is also supported by important regional financial players like Banca Comerciala Romana, OTP Bank, technology companies like Capex.com, Zitec and the international law firm CMS have partnered in the event, eager to see Open Banking gain traction in the financial sector.
Open Banking Hackathon has started in 2019 because of the adoption of the PSD by the European Union with the purpose of gathering together the most important fintech key stakeholders in Central and Eastern Europe and the brightest minds to find feasible and innovative solutions for the implementation of open banking.
This year's edition is coming after a pandemic that has changed our lives and will be happening in a hybrid format, finishing with a round table with important stakeholders in the ecosystem that will come together on 30th of September to discuss the newest trends in open banking.
