The event welcomes everyone who is passionate about entrepreneurship, regardless of their industry, or professional path. From almost 800 participants in the previous editions, over 200 have pitched a business idea, and 89 of them were turned into products, or services, over a weekend.
Among the 80+ mentors from previous editions we can mention Jag Singh (Techstars Berlin), Philipp Kandal (Telenav), Anca Bundaru (Bitdefender), David Trayford (WOW Media), Cristian Dascălu (Gapminder), Rumen Iliev (Launch Hub) and many others.
"Startup Weekend Cluj is about people, about creating connections and sharing experiences. One of the most important aspects of the event is the learning process through practice. In less than 54 hours the participants have the opportunity to learn at an accelerated pace the first most important steps in developing a business: validating an idea, building a prototype, or an MVP, as well as defining a business model. In addition to that, a selection of mentors and trainers - experts in the industries they operate, are present throughout the weekend to provide participants with real-time guidance and feedback." adds Cristina Juc, organizer of Startup Weekend Cluj.
Winter Holidays pre-early bird tickets, designed to be offered as gifts to loved ones during the winter holiday season, can be purchased until the end of December, from Eventbrite.

The Startup Weekend concept appeared in the US in 2007. At first this was only a handful of people who shared their experiences and helped each other, and has later evolved into a global community of entrepreneurs and future entrepreneurs. Hundreds of cities in 150+ countries have adopted the concept, and tens of thousands of people have started their business during a Startup Weekend event.
The first Startup Weekend Cluj edition happened in 2012, being one of the first events dedicated to startups in Cluj. Along with the other initiatives in the city, SWCluj has contributed over the years to the definition and development of the local startups’ ecosystem. The 2020 edition of Startup Weekend Cluj is organized in partnership with Cluj Startups - the local community dedicated to startups.
